Kappa Kappa Chapter Receives OKU-Chapter Award

male.jpgThe winner of the 2011 Chapter Award is Kappa Kappa Chapter at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry. Kappa Kappa Chapter was cited for the following activities and programs:

-helped to create and provides annual financial support for the dental school's white coat ceremony,

-helped to create and provides annual financial support to the Haiti Club.  The Haiti Club is a goodwill mission manned by dental students and some faculty at Kornberg.  These volunteers spend a week in  remote locations in  Haiti providing dental care to underserved populations.  A pictorial tour highlighting last year's trip is available on Kappa  Kappa  chapter's website,

-as Kornberg's predoctoral clinic moves from a disciplined-based model to a comprehensive care clinical model the members of Kappa Kappa chapter voted to support a competition among the junior and senior students to provide for a case documentation contest.  This documentation would follow a case from treatment planning to the successful completion of the proposed treatment plan using aides such as radiographs, photographs and diagnostic study casts,

-Kappa Kappa chapter established and maintains a website at Kornberg to keep its members and guests apprised of chapter activities.

For these many accomplishments and because of their tireless encouragement of the values of OKU to the students and faculty of Kornberg's School of Dentistry the Supreme Chapter is pleased to recognize Kappa Kappa chapter with the 2011 OKU Chapter Award.
